Christmas Gift Ideas On A Budget
|
Teaching your children how to be thoughtful and
caring when buying Christmas gifts should be an important part of Christmas.
It is also important to teach them how to manage their own money during the
holiday season. Be sure to let your kids get involved in Christmas by letting
them make or purchase their own presents, even if they are small or low-cost.
If the children are too young to handle money, encourage them to make gifts
for those they would like to give presents to. Homemade gifts are more personal,
and make for a fun and inexpensive Christmas for the kids.
Creating an Inexpensive Gift Basket
There are a number of things you can do to save
money during the holiday season. Think about making a creative homemade gift
before going out and purchasing a gift. Gift baskets are both fun and easy to
create and can be put together rather inexpensively. Take a picture of
yourself, your family, or your children and put it in an inexpensive frame
and give it as a gift to family members and close friends. You can also add
more practical items to the gift basket, such as cookie mix in a jar, a
disposable camera, a hand-decorated photo album, note cards and a book of
stamps, craft supplies, a movie rental gift certificate, a small radio or
clock, sewing materials, a handy flashlight with batteries, home-made cookie
mix complete with a recipe for baking, home baked bread with the recipe, new
paper and a pen, or a gift certificate to their favorite book or department
store. These inexpensive Christmas gift ideas may actually get used by the
recipient, unlike many more expensive gifts.
Other Money Saving Ideas
An excellent way to save money during the
Christmas season is to spend less on wrapping paper and Christmas cards. If
you own a computer, you can design and print out your Christmas cards on
inexpensive card stock paper. This also allows you to personalize the cards
by adding a personal picture, writing your own sayings, and adding your own
images to them, such as an image of your decorated house. You can even do
this without a computer. Simply glue or tape your images to the card and
write the Christmas message by hand. You may even want to let the kids make
the cards, especially the cards intended for their grandparents.
You can also make your own wrapping paper by
buying less expensive paper such as that used to prepare packages for
mailing. This type of paper can be found anywhere mail supplies are sold. You
can decorate the paper with sponges dipped in craft paints, rubber stamps, or
potatoes cut in half and carved into various Christmas shapes, similar to the
look of a rubber stamp. Immerse the imprint into paint and have a lot of fun
designing your very own wrapping paper. To give your gifts a more antique or
rustic look, you can use a combination of brown wrapping paper and twine
instead of a ribbon. Spending less on cards and wrapping paper will save you
money and allow you to spend more on other great Christmas gift ideas.
Putting Some Thought Into the Gift
Put some thought and imagination into different
gift ideas before you decide to go out and buy a Christmas gift. You will
probably come up with a number of better, more personal gifts, if you do a
little work and make the gift yourself. For a great and invaluable gift,
refinish a cabinet or chest and give it to a family member or close friend.
Think of items people wouldn’t normally buy for
themselves and what their interests are. You can give things like a gift
certificate to the local pet store for the pet lover on your Christmas list.
Give tickets to the movie theater to the movie lover, or a fascinating book
to an avid reader. A few other ideas such as prepaid photo developing
envelopes, a bag of cashews, or a month’s unlimited tanning at a local
tanning salon may also be well appreciated. Most of these gifts, while being
very easy on your budget, will surprise and please the recipient. These are
just a few examples of inexpensive Christmas gifts. Even the fussiest people
can’t pass up on a gift that that is both thoughtful and has a personal
touch. Kids Christmas Activities And Games

Top 10 Most Popular Kid Birthday Party Ideas
Top 10 Most Popular Kid Birthday Party Ideas
by: Dee Schrock
Do you have a kids birthday party coming up and are at a loss for ideas?
I've picked out the most popular party themes for boys and girls, sure to make your planning much easier!
1. Barbie Birthday Party
Barbie, girl’s best friend, inspired young girls for decades. She and her friends are still the life of the party even today!
2. Batman Birthday Party
Batman lives! As long as he continues in the hearts of those little caped crusaders and the parties go on and on, he never dies. Batman is eternal—and so are his parties - a Batman and Robin party is a real “smash” for little caped crusaders who like excitement and fun.
3. Care Bear Party
Whether it is Cheer Bear or Bedtime bear, the Care Bears are always a wonderful addition to any child’s birthday party, especially girls. They are bright, lovable, fun, and cheerful, and always leave children and adults happy.
4. Birthday Construction Party
The obvious decorative eye-catcher is having your home strung in “caution” tape, along with flashing safety lights. This will add a dramatic effect and will be a fun setting for children to play. The boys can wear their hard hats as they play in the construction site you have created.
5. Disney Princess Party
No decoration is more elegant for a Disney Princess birthday party than a grand castle. Swirls of light-colored streamers adorn the grand ballroom. You can have the basement made up to look like the inside of a medieval castle with painted wooden or cardboard sets.
6. Dora the Explorer Party
Dora the Explorer is a girl who loves to search, discover, and learn about and share with others. A Dora the Explorer party, then, should be fun as well as cultural and educational.
7. Hello Kitty Party
Hello Kitty likes her tea parties, her scrumptious sweets, and her crafts. At a Hello Kitty party, you can have plenty of all three!
8. Incredibles Party
The Incredibles were a super hero family forced out of action, but now they’re back! But it isn’t what they thought it would be. A whole new kind of adventure begins! An Incredibles party can be just as on-the-edge as the story. Let the excitement fly!
9. Spider Man Party
Spiderman spins a web and has captured the imagination of people for decades. He still keeps kids cheering even today. A Spiderman party will keep the kids entranced right from the get-go!
10. Spongebob Party
The decorations for a SpongeBob party should follow SpongeBob’s locale, namely the town of Bikini Bottom. Underwater motifs and imagery will place the kids in SpongeBob’s world, if even only for a couple of hours.
I hope these ideas helped spark some ideas for your upcoming kids birthday party. Have a sensational celebration!

Planning A Birthday Party For Kids
Planning A Birthday Party For Kids Is Not A Child’s Play
by: Stephen Smith
All parents get frustrated
when it comes to organizing a birthday party for kids. The kids always expect
their birthday parties to be a whole lot better than their last ones. It is not
as hard as it looks after all. All you have to do is plan in advance and cover
up the ground from zero so that the kids’ birthday parties always end on a high
note and leave them smiling all over. There are some of the general points that help you plan and organize
a super hit birthday party for kids. Easy Face Painting
The parents should start with a lot of brainstorming to come up with strategic ideas for the kids’ birthday parties that would enthrall them. Planning for kids would be tough for an adult unless the kids themselves are consulted. It is good to discuss with the children and get some inspiration for birthday party concepts, after all it is their birthday party and they have a right to have it their way. The discussions should involve all the questions pertaining to where, how, when, who, and other similar questions that clear out the planning.
After the brainstorming sessions conclude, there arises the need to get to the shopping at once if the date is nearing fast. You need party supplies that include decorations, catering, food, drinks, et al which need to be there on the shopping list. The checklist should be comprehensive of the birthday cake, foods, refreshments, venue, number of people etc. The checklist should be written down and should be kept updated every time so that you don’t miss anything out. The checklist should be focused on the kids’ birthday parties and their requirements.
Now comes a really integral part of the birthday party for kids – the invitations. The invitations list should be carefully made so as not to forget any of the important people, friends, and family. The children should be more and the adults are best kept less. The invitation cards should be designed with the central theme in mind and should say what the guests are expected to dress according to the theme. Take note that you should give the invitation at least 2 weeks ahead, ideally at least one month in advance. The rationale is that this will allow the invited guests to keep that calendar slot free for your birthday party for kids.
Planning doesn’t stop at the actual day of the party. The actual party will be the action of your program. Organizing a birthday party means to be in control of the whole party until the end of the party, do not panic when problems occur. If you have planned for contingencies you shouldn’t worry too much.
Contacting a professional birthday party for kid’s supplier to help you arrange the kids’ birthday parties helps a lot as the supplier comes in with a heavy experience to back you with unmatched expertise that leaves you free and easy to enjoy the party festival.
